For New Learners
When many parents and students first hear "Blender", they may ask: "What is it?"
Blender is a world-leading free professional 3D creation tool, widely used across film, animation and game industries. The 2025 Oscar winner for Best Animated Feature, Flow, was created entirely in Blender. It is like combining "digital clay + painting + filmmaking tools" into one, allowing anyone to build a complete 3D world from scratch.
By learning Blender, students gain professional-grade 3D creation skills while developing creativity, logical thinking, and problem-solving ability. After integrating generative AI tools, the learning curve is dramatically lowered, enabling youth aged 12-18 to go from concept to a complete work in a short time.
Creative thinking
Build imaginative future worlds from scratch
Logical thinking
Master the fundamentals of 3D modeling and AI tools
Problem-solving
Independently complete the journey from concept to finished work

Student Showcase
From zero to the BCON international stage — see how an 11-year-old used Blender and AI to turn imagination into work the world can see.
Spencer Xu discovered Blender at age 10 through a love of aircraft and models. From struggling with the English interface to mastering geometry nodes, modelling, and rendering — he is building his own 3D world at 11.
"Age is never a limit on creativity." Step by step, he turned imaginative ideas into work that impressed international professional teams.
He shared his journey at BCON Shenzhen, the official Blender conference in China. On the IAICC international stage, he was also recognised by core team members from Flow, the Oscar-winning animated feature.

BCON international talk
This story shows us that age is never a limit on creativity. With the right tools and learning direction, even primary school students can showcase their creative work on the international stage.
However, learning professional creation tools often requires proper guidance and structured support. Many young learners are full of passion, yet they can hit bottlenecks, struggle to build professional workflows, and lack timely feedback — leading to slow progress or drifting off course.
Guidance from an international mentor
Led personally by Hector Alexander Galindo Escobar (formerly with Disney and Mattel), students learn the mindset and practical skills of professional 3D artists.
University setting + structured learning
Held on the HKMU campus, combining Blender and generative AI to build the right creative workflow in the most efficient way.
AI truly embedded in the creative process
Not a separate AI class — students learn to naturally integrate generative AI into Blender, making creative ideas faster to realise.
Concrete results in 5 days
Complete a full 3D portfolio plus an AI motion piece, earn an official HKMU certificate, and get ready for international competitions.
This is not just a casual interest experience — with international mentor guidance and university resources, it offers a structured learning path.
Compared with typical self-learning, this route is faster, clearer, and more systematic.
Camp Highlights

Guest Mentor
Hector Alexander Galindo Escobar
Lead 3D Artist / Art Director at Reunite · International Hard Surface & Environment Art Specialist
A senior 3D artist from Colombia and Australia with over 10 years of professional experience.
Hector's career began at a renowned Australian outsourcing studio as a prop modeler, creating props and environments for multiple animated series for Disney and Mattel. He then moved into real-time architectural visualization with Unreal Engine, building extensive commercial project experience.
Over the past six years, Hector has been based in Hong Kong, working with multiple independent game studios. He now runs his own studio and is developing a native web tool that lets 3D artists showcase their work interactively online through mini-games.
He specializes in hard-surface game art and environment art, with a complete commercial production perspective spanning Hollywood-level animation to indie game development. Hector has also been invited to speak at IAICC 2025 and BCON Shenzhen, Blender's official conference.
In this summer camp, Hector will personally lead students in mastering Blender's core skills and teach how professional 3D artists think and execute — helping students build their own 3D future world from scratch.
